Workspace

Workspace should be its own dedicated section in the help center.

Even though it connects to account and billing, the Workspace area is really about team collaboration, member access, invitations, and seat usage rather than personal profile settings.

Why Workspace is its own section

Even though Workspace is connected to billing and account setup, it is not just a personal settings area.

Workspace is where teams manage collaboration features such as:

  • the current workspace owner
  • your plan status
  • member seats
  • workspace members
  • pending invitations

In the current app, Workspace is a separate dashboard area and not a tab inside Profile.

What you see in Workspace

The current Workspace page includes:

  • a workspace overview card
  • the workspace owner
  • the current plan
  • seat usage for Pro workspaces
  • a members list
  • a pending invites list

Task-based guides

Use these guides depending on what you want to do:

Workspace owner

The owner is shown in a dedicated card near the top of the page.

The owner is labeled clearly as Owner, which helps teams understand who controls the workspace at the highest level.

Plan and seat summary

The Workspace page shows the current plan, which is either:

  • Free
  • Pro

If the workspace is on Pro, the page also shows seat usage, such as how many seats are currently used compared with the total number of licensed seats.

If the signed-in member is allowed to manage billing, the page provides a Manage plan action that sends the user to the billing tab in Profile.

Members

The members section lists people who collaborate inside the workspace.

Based on the current app, the owner is displayed separately, and the main members list focuses on the remaining workspace members.

Each member card can show:

  • the member name
  • the member email
  • the member role icon
  • an action to remove the member or leave the workspace

Roles

The current app distinguishes between these workspace roles:

  • owner
  • admin
  • member

The owner has the highest level of control. Admins may also be allowed to manage billing-related actions based on the current logic.

Free vs Pro behavior

The current app handles free and Pro workspaces differently:

  • Free workspaces show an upgrade prompt in the members area
  • Pro workspaces show seat usage and team-member controls more fully

This means team collaboration features are tied closely to the workspace plan.

Relationship to billing

Workspace and billing are connected, but they are not the same thing.

  • Workspace is where you manage people and invitations
  • Plans & Billing is where you manage subscription status, seats, renewals, and invoices

That is why Workspace works best as its own section in the docs, with a link back to billing when needed.

For the help center, I recommend:

  • keep Profile and Integrations under account-oriented setup
  • keep Workspace as its own top-level section

That mirrors the product more closely and makes the docs easier to scan.
